The company has developed to become one of the leading material suppliers and services contractors. Expansion and growth of business in the 80’s and early 90’s were met by an increase in manpower and expanded organization, upgrading and acquiring of new facilities and equipment.

From 1992 onwards we have been exercising greater control, monitoring and review of business strategies to suit the changing environment, and embarking on diversification of the organization’s business activities. Targeted markets are clearly identified in order to capitalize on the organization’s strength and resources.

Industry today is undergoing further changes. To adapt and continue growing, we have branched out and ventured into training and information technology sectors. The Learning & Development Training Centre, which we started in 2008, is well equipped and boasts accreditations from several internationally recognized institutions. Similarly our IT and media department is beginning to develop business opportunities in a highly competitive environment.

Who We Are



 

History of Joffren Omar Company

 

The year 1982 has marked the journey of Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd in supplying premium oil and gas products to the industry. Initially situated in Kg Baru Seria, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd has supported lifting activities since 1988 and further developed its local MARC service and repair centre in early 90s. 1998 has signified Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd as the first HOIST provider in Brunei Darussalam. In 2002, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd introduced the first Lokring application to the oil and gas industry. Throughout the operation, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd was awarded with the best supplier award by Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) in 2002.

With progressive development in the business, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd based its headquarter in Sungai Bera Light Industrial area in 2004. The operation was entirely centralized to Lot 47 Sungai Bera in 2012. The establishment of Learning and Development department in 2008 fulfilled the needs of Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd to equip our clients with skill training based on industrial demand. In 2008 as well, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd was the first local company to host an internationally certified welding training centre from global training agents, The Welding Institute (TWI).


In 2011, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd was appointed as a certified scaffolding training centre by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). With crucial experience in this field, Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd was appointed as the Registered Training Organization (RTO) by the government of Brunei Darussalam in 2014. The alliance of Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd with Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) aimed to conduct competency skill training for the students of Industrial Skill Qualification (ISQ).


Today, we aspire to offer diversify training courses in an effort to increase local workforce technical competencies and to increase local personnel employability. Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd is also committed to provide our clients with effective solution for their business needs.

Meet the Team



Abdul Rahman bin Haji Assim - Deputy LDM Manager

Graduated from University of Manchester in 2006, Abd Rahman has ventured in various field of employment throughout his career. He began his profession in Joffren Omar Co Sdn Bhd as HSSE coordinator in February 2016. Presently, he holds his position as the Deputy Learning & Development Manager.

Jody Lo - Administration

Jody is a graduate in Commerce, double major in Management and Marketing. Joined Joffren Omar Company in August 2015 and is the L&D administrator. She likes dealing with people and enjoys the challenges of her job.

 

 

 

Regino Millan - Welding Instructor

Regino is a highly qualified welding instructor with more than 10 years in the oil and gas industry. He is a graduate diploma holder in welding SKM level 3 and is a qualified CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector and a TWI approved welding examiner. He joined Joffren Omar Company from TWI Johore in 2008 and is very involved in youth welder training such as apprentice scheme and EICF.

Michael Cheng Seng Lee - Scaffolding Instructor

Michael Cheng Seng Lee has been working in the scaffolding field for 18 years, both onshore and offshore, in various capacities. As a scaffolding instructor he is thus able to incorporate his operational experience into his training courses. He teaches Part A, B, Complex, SIS and SISC.

Ak Muhd Arif Faiz - Instructor

Ariffaiz is the successful product of a local welder apprentice scheme in which he qualified up to 6GR level and spent first 3 years of his career as a welder in a local company. In 2014 he joined Joffren Omar Company as an assistant welding instructor focusing on EICF ISQ welder theory and practical training.

The grade I painting inspector is concerned with an advance offshore practices. We offer customized welding courses at three levels as follow:

Before proposing the training program, candidates are required to undergo a short assessment to determine their proficiency level. A training program is then proposed specifying the duration of training and a full additional day for welder qualification test.

Each program consists of 1 day classroom based lessons on welding safety and welding defects. The rest of the program is devoted to practical skills training.

TWI’s Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) are used for the welder qualification tests (WQTs) unless otherwise requested.

All WQTs are subject to visual and radiographic tests.
